Expectations of Students
Students are expected to try their best. They will not be expected to know how to do the work initially but may be asked. It is ok to admit to not knowing how to address a question. Students are expected to be respectful to themselves, me, and other students when applicable. What that looks like can vary sometimes and that’s ok.
Scheduling
Sessions can be scheduled at any time available shown on my schedule up to 14 hrs prior. If you ever find yourself in need of a session outside of these times or with shorter notice, just let me know and I’ll do what I can to work with you.
Cancellation
Cancellations or rescheduling can be made with at least 8 hrs notice without any penalty automatically through the scheduling platform. If cancellations are made within 8 hrs of the session time for emergency reasons, subject to my determination, no payment will be required, though doing so (even partially) as a way to respect my time is always appreciated.
Late sessions
I understand things happen. If you are running late, please try to let me know. I will wait 15 minutes if I have not heard from you. I can make up that time you missed according to my discretion and availability. After that you will simply have to reschedule. If for any reason I am late, please reach out. If you have not heard from me and I have not shown up within 10 minutes of the start of the session, feel free to leave and I’ll owe you a make-up session.
Illness
In case a student thinks they may be contagious and is meeting in person for sessions, please reschedule, cancel, or ask to change the session to online. If they do not feel they are contagious but feel unwell enough to make sessions unproductive, these kinds of experiences can add to the anxiety and pressures of a session and can be distressing, so please do not hesitate to reach out and reschedule or cancel.
Discounted Sessions
If you are under financial strain and the estimate is higher than you can afford at any time, talk to me about it. I am passionate about helping people get an education in Math. I can offer a certain number of hours a week at a reduced rate or we can try to match students with similar needs to share that time and share the cost.
Preference for discounted rates is given on a first come first serve basis and to students in and around the Bayless District.
